Visit Vimanmek Mansion (Cloud Mansion), the worlds largest building made entirely of golden teak. The three story wooden palace has 81 rooms, halls and ante-rooms. The building was originally constructed on Srichang Island in the Gulf of Siam. In 1901, the building was removed to the Dusit Palace by the command of King Rama V (King Chulalongkorn).
Many rooms currently maintain the atmosphere of the past. Most of the building in the same compound are now used as museums. You may also visit Abhisek Dusit Hall, which exhibits H.M. Queen Sirikits collection of handicraft masterpieces created by rural people. The other displays of various items and art objects including H.M. King Bhumibols photography, paraphernalia of rank and portraits, ancient cloth, clocks, and royal carriages.
